This is the fourth episode of The Moon Monkey podcast. On this episode entitled "DP with the worlds sexiest man" we discuss Deadpool I can't fault it really, okay it isn't the most in-depth plot you'll ever watch, but it is hilarious, violent, has a good look, with an extremely fast paced and well written script, from the same writers that worked on Zombieland.
It shows the Deadpool origins story, we see how Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) becomes Deadpool not in the usual way though, we first see Wade in his red jumpsuit quipping and killing and we find out the story through flashback. It has a couple of X-men in there too with Colossus and Negasonic teenage warhead (wearing the New Mutants yellow and black, geek out on that) who I really liked within the film, lets see more of that character. It has revenge, love, swords, guns and a few hundred jokes. It may not be a classic film masterpiece, it's not The Godfather or Alien but I completely loved it, it did everything I wanted it to do. So give the film a watch and the podcast a listen and bring your popcorn.
We're on Soundcloud too if thats your thing, listen below.

Here is another helping of Moon Monkey for you to chew on like a piece of Bison liver. This episode we review The Revenant. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu who also made Birdman which I really liked a lot. The Revenant based on a true story, is a brutal watch, but totally worth it, so good I've seen it twice. I do have a controversial idea that Hugh Glass starts acting like a bear but I don't even mention it on the podcast I've saved that doozy for below....
Moon Monkey Podcast The Revenant Episode 3
Yeah Hugh Glass gets attacked by a bear, which sneaks up on you, when you first hear the bear you don't know if the noise is Hugh Glass breathing, but it's really the bear! Later he then starts wearing the bear pelt, hiding in the forest, swimming down the river and catching and eating raw fish with his bare hands (not bear hands). He even starts grunting like a bear, DiCaprio is the bear. It probably is more about a connection with humanity and nature and how Glass/Bear are just surviving in the harsh world and trying to protects their respective son/cubs. But there are loads of parallel stories within this epic, atmospheric movie. I'm not suggesting he goes full Jeff Goldblum and transforms like The Fly people but you get my drift. However I am suggesting you go watch this film.

So I'm now doing a podcast with Matt from Nichi Ei a website all about Japanese movies, books and comics, so check that out if you like that kinda thing. But back to the podcast it's called Moon Monkey and is all about films. I imagine it will be pretty regular unlike this website.... So yeah here's Moon Monkey episode 1 "Not the Phantom Menace" all about the new Star Wars movie directed by JJ Abrams. We recorded over an hour of really in depth chat about Star Wars it was a sophisticated journey through the Star Wars universe, with comedy, intriguing commentary and really insightful views on the new film, but we lost that version so here is this spiralling descent we recorded a few hours after. Sadly it's missing all my talk about Greedo but it still has some good bits....
