Just when you think no one can still be posting a Best Of 2015 list, I do it!! I haven’t been as prolific at writing reviews or actually getting round to posting them this year, as I would have liked, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been listening to stuff. Here is the first “Best Of” on The Pinser. The rules are: I have to have listened to it and liked it, no rereleases, EP’s best of’s that would be too easy. Obviously I can’t listen to everything that’s been released this year, so don’t get all pissed that your favourite didn’t make it, but this is the best of what I’ve heard. There are no favours or bribery involved, it’s just- if I love it its on the list, hopefully the list won’t be the same as every other one out there either. It’s not like there is a cutoff point to find good music, this year, next year 1955, 1971, all the others too, travel to the future Marty McFly style come back and tell us who to look out for, but here’s the best of 2015 incase you missed it in no particular order.
1. Father John Misty: I love you Honey Bear
2. Marilyn manson : The Pale Emperor
3. Blur : The Magic Whip
4. .Sleater Kinney : No Cities To Love
This came out in early 2015. I only got into Sleater Kinney because my ex girlfriend had a way better taste in music than I have. I listened to their older stuff, cause there wasn’t anything new for ages. This was their first album in 10 years and was certainly worth the wait. So if you havn’t do your record collection a big favour and go out and buy it. Maybe people can disagree with some stuff on this best of list but Sleater Kinney can’t be one of them. It’s an enjoyable listen, it was one of the first albums I heard in 2015 and it stayed with me for the whole year.
